The Perfect Hard-boiled Egg

Standard

The Perfect Hardboiled Egg

  • 6 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon of Salt

You can add any number of eggs you want (I did 6), place in the pot with cold water to cover.  Add a of baking soda and salt.  Place on the stove top on high.  You have to keep your eye on it until it comes to a boil.  Once this happens, turn the timer on for 10 minutes.  Once the 10 minutes are over, immediately transfer pot to sink, run cold water and ice on them until they are cool to touch.  I take a piece of paper towel, roll the egg back and forth until there are cracks all over and they should easily peel, I rinse the egg of little bits of shell and place in container.  The faster you peel the eggs (Where they are not sitting in the shell) I find the easier they are to come out.

Eggs like this are perfect for Egg Salad, topping for Salads, to eat as a healthy snack on the go.  Click here for a great and yummy Mayoless Egg Salad recipe.
